Manufacturing Quality Control of ZBC

Test Item Common Test Method Method Summary
Main Content (ZnDBC Purity) High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Uses a reversed-phase C18 column with methanol-water or acetonitrile-water as the mobile phase. Detection is performed using a UV detector (typically at 230–254 nm). The content of ZnDBC is calculated by external standard method or area normalization method.
Zinc Content Complexometric Titration (EDTA Titration) The sample is dissolved in an acidic medium, pH is adjusted to an appropriate range, and titrated with standard EDTA solution using xylenol orange or Eriochrome Black T as indicator. Zinc content is calculated based on the volume of EDTA consumed.
Sulfur Content Oxygen Flask Combustion-Iodometric Method or Elemental Analyzer The sample is combusted at high temperature in an oxygen-filled flask to produce sulfur dioxide, which is absorbed by hydrogen peroxide and converted into sulfuric acid, followed by titration with standard iodine solution; alternatively, total sulfur content is directly determined using an elemental analyzer.
Free Amine (e.g., Dibutylamine) Gas Chromatography (GC) The sample is extracted with a suitable solvent, separated on a capillary GC column, detected by FID, and quantified by external standard method to determine residual free amine content.
Volatile Matter Loss on Drying Method A known amount of sample is dried in an oven at a specified temperature (e.g., 105±2°C) until constant weight. The volatile content is calculated from the mass loss.
Ash Content High-Temperature Ignition Method The sample is ignited in a muffle furnace at 550–600°C until constant weight. The percentage of residual inorganic matter relative to the original sample weight is reported as ash content.
Appearance and Color Visual Color Comparison Method Under natural light or standard illumination, the sample is visually compared with standard color solutions or a white reference plate to assess its color and appearance (typically pale yellow to amber powder or granules).
Melting Point Capillary Melting Point Method The sample is packed into a melting point capillary tube and heated at a specified rate in a melting point apparatus. The initial and final melting temperatures are recorded, and the melting range is evaluated against specifications (ZnDBC typically melts at 120–125°C).
